Changing Futures North East is a children's and families charity that has been supporting the community for the past 2 decades.  We children thrive through improving the quality of family members relationships and support children and young people to make new relationships with adults and other people their own age.

We're a small, local organisation that provides a variety of services across the area and we are keen to have new people join our team who are equally as passionate about changing children's future!

 

Children & Young Person's Support Worker

This role is to work with children and young people in engaging and supportive way. To be a role model and work closely with their parents and carers to help children and young people achieve their goal.

  1. To work with children/young people/parents on all projects, engaging and supporting them with their personal development and access to social activities.
  2. Ensure that children/young people are supervised at all times. Play activities are appropriate to the children's/young people’s abilities and assist their physical, social, intellectual and language development.
  3. Help keep and maintain records and programmes, as appropriate, within the objectives of the schemes.
  4. Participate in a wide range of activities, both internally and externally, to meet the individual needs and desires of the children/young people.
  5. Work within the policies and procedures laid down by the Company, including a framework for equal opportunities.
  6. To ensure that the people we work with are safe by assisting in all elements of safeguarding and Health and Safety of our children.
  7. Fully participate in internal case conferences of our children and young people.
  8. To be flexible and undertake any other duties within similar projects as and when required.

Participate in regular supervisions and appraisals

Parent Connector

Work with parents to help them access groups and support that meets their needs and those of their children. Provide groups that give them peer support and help them with everyday parenting challenges.

  1. To work with parents on all projects
