Hartlepool FE GameCON

21 June 2018

Hartlepool College of Further Education hosted their 2nd GAMECON to raise money for Changing Futures North East over half term and it was a huge success!! Building on from lasts years event, the 2016 GAMECON raised £208 for our charity to help local children, young people and families! Absolutely fantastic!

Attended by many FE staff, students and families from across Hartlepool the attendees were able to play a huge variety of new and retro games from Call of Duty to Crash Bandicoot and even a Flight Simulator !

Event Planner Mark Lee stated “We started the event last year with some keen students and local visitors, but this year everyone’s support and passion blew us away! Teesside University and the college really embraced the community aspect of this event with fantastic ICT facilities and conference rooming and students dedicated their time and their own game systems. Domino’s Pizza also sponsored the event, ensuring that daily gamers didn’t go hungry by donating free pizza every day. The GameCon really shows how much people care in Hartlepool and we can’t wait to make this event even bigger next year!”

The event was a huge success and we are so honored and proud that the FE thought of our charity again to fundraise for. We really value the supportive relationship that we have built with the college over the last few years with students volunteering and now fundraising for us!

We would like to say a huge thank you to the Ambassadors, students, staff and all those that attended that made the event so fantastic! We already can’t wait for next year’s event!
